Eastern Office (Skopje, North Macedonia) Solidaritätsnetz International has submitted a request for accreditation of observers for the parliamentary elections in the Republic of Moldova

09 September 2025 – Solidaritätsnetz International (Eastern Office), an organization dedicated to the protection of human rights, the rule of law and democratic processes specifically in the countries of the former USSR, has submitted an official request to the Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Moldova to provide accreditation of international observers for the upcoming parliamentary elections, which will take place on 28 September 2025.

We believe that the parliamentary elections in Moldova in 2025 are of key importance not only for the country itself, but also for the entire European region. This is an opportunity to confirm the choice in favor of democracy, freedom and European integration. Transparent and fair elections are the basis for citizens’ trust and an essential step towards full membership in the European Union.

The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, has repeatedly stressed the need for independent election monitoring by international organisations, including the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) and the European Network of Election Monitoring Organisations (ENEMO). Such monitoring helps to identify and prevent possible attempts at foreign interference and to guarantee the free expression of the will of citizens.

Solidaritätsnetz International confirms its readiness to contribute to this process by sending its own observers. We express our full support for the democratic development of the Republic of Moldova and its aspiration to membership in the European Union. We are convinced that Moldova’s place is in the European family and that the strengthening of democratic institutions will contribute to peace, stability and prosperity in the entire region.
